Chicken Corn Chowder – Dairyfree

This recipe has been on the list for a while but we had to find the perfect day to make it. 

Rainy, cold day = warm, yummy soup! 

Like most of our recipes, this soup is simple and the prep is fast, making it perfect for toddler Chefs! You’ll be surprised at how creamy it tastes without any cream. Other than chopping up garlic all of the ingredients are prepackaged so prep time is cut in half. If you can, find organic options to make the recipe even healthier. 


  • 3 cans sweet corn
  • 1 pound chicken breast 
  • 1 carton chicken broth
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour 
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper


Set crockpot to high or 3-4 hour setting. Add corn (no juice) and chicken.   Pour in chicken broth.   

 Add chopped garlic.  Stir all ingredients together and let cook for 2 hours.Check temperature of chicken. 

When chicken reaches 165, you’re ready to blend.  Use immersion blender or hand mixer to blend ingredients to make stew.

 Slowly stir in flour and seasoning. 

Let cool for a few minutes. 

Put stew in a pretty bowl and add salt and pepper to taste.
