Cinnamon Apples -Dairy free

I’m not sure who loves this snack more, Carson or his mommy. If you’re looking for a warm semi-healthy dairyfree snack you’ve found it! 

Ingredients: 

4 apples, peeled and sliced (we use organic Granny Smith)

1/2 cup light brown sugar (Wegmans brand organic)

2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoon dairy free, soy free butter (we use Earth Balance Olive Oil, nonGmo, Vegan, Soy free)

Directions:

1. Peel and slice apples. 

  (Feel free to peel an extra if your lil chef works up an appetite and needs a snack)
  

2. Mix all dry ingredients together. To save mess you can put everything in a large ziplock bag or just mix in a large bowl. Add the apples and either mix (bowl) or shake (bag) to coat the apples. 

3. In large frying pan melt dairy free butter, then add water, then add apples. Stir occasionally.   

4. Cook apples for 10 minutes or until as soft as you want them. 

 
5. Eat! 

 We paired the apples with spaghetti squash in a lemon garlic sauce (we’ll post that recipe soon)
